In a world full of things instant, Ma Chicken Mami House chose to keep it nice and slow, in preparing their Mami that is. The broth may it be chicken, beef or pork, is simmered for hours to get that full flavor. This process takes its noodle soup apart from others.
Whenever I or my dad get the craving for Mami, I always go to Ma. Since Sgt. Esguerra St. Near Timog Branch is the nearest one from where I live, this is where I come often. Though all, yes all of its dish in the menu are really really good, like the Crispy Piencit Canton, Siopao, Kikiam, Lumpiang Shanghai on a Rice Bowl to name a few, I always end up ordering noodle soup since I'm such a noodle soup fan. Selections are Chicken Mami, Siomai Mami, Beef Mami, Beef Wanton Mami, Chicken Wanton Mami, but if you want to get everything in one bowl, order the house specialty "Ma's Binondo Mami". This choice has everything other mami have, boiled egg, beef, chicken, siomai, and off course the hearty soup.
Though the soup is a good as it is, I urge you to try to put a blend of siopao sauce, chili oil and soy sauce you can make yourself from what's on the condiment area and put it in your spoon when to take a slurp for the soup. It actually takes the soup's taste on a different direction but still delicious nonetheless.
Ma Chicken Mami now has several branches located at Sta. Lucia East, Pavilion Mall, Sgt. Esguerra (Timog Avenue), SM North EDSA The Block, Fun Ranch, PGH, Trinoma and Marquee Mall, Ma Chicken Mami still continues to cook its mami like back in the days, warming everyone's heart who got a taste of it and keep on coming back for more.
